Cathy Ford, Executive Dealer at ContainerOne, has been a pioneer in utilizing Textla, a leading SMS marketing platform, to enhance her company’s communication strategies.

This case study explores how Cathy’s innovative use of Textla over the past two years has not only streamlined communications but also significantly boosted revenue for her company.

The Challenge

ContainerOne is a high-growth shipping container business, enabling buyers to purchase shipping containers online in just a few clicks.

Two years ago, Cathy realized she needed a solution to maintain personalized communication with an ever-growing customer base without escalating costs.

Cathy Ford described the initial challenge: “We were looking for a way to reach our customers directly, ensuring our messages were both personal and timely without overwhelming our team,” she said.

The Solution

Textla, known for its robust and user-friendly SMS marketing capabilities, was chosen as the solution.

Cathy was particularly impressed with its array of features, stating, “Textla is the best SMS program available. It offers the flexibility of scheduling and sending both individual and bulk texts effortlessly.”

She became an early adopter of the platform and set forth implementing it into her business.

The Implementation

Cathy implemented Textla with a strategic approach, leveraging the platform’s numerous features to more efficiently reach her customers at scale.

Here are some of the core features Cathy cites as a value-add to her business:

Customized Messaging: “I send out anywhere between two and 400 texts per week,” Cathy said. “I love that I can send it out in bulk packages or individually and make tweaks to any of the text through copy and paste, and even add pictures.”

Efficient Scheduling: Cathy gushed over Textla’s bulk text scheduling feature, which let her send out pre-programmed texts automatically to new customers and other prospects in the customer lifecycle. “Textla allows me to schedule texts so that they are sent at just the right time, ensuring maximum engagement without constant monitoring,” she asserted.

Interactive Feedback: Two-way texting was another mission-critical feature that Textla delivered to her business. “The program allows customers to respond back to my texts, creating a dialogue that enhances engagement and loyalty,” Cathy explained.

Across the board, Cathy’s success with Textla was due to the platform’s capabilities to save time while maximizing outreach effectiveness.

Results

The results of implementing Textla at ContainerOne were transformative. Here are some of the top ways that Cathy saw enhanced business operations using Textla:

Increased Sales: “It has saved me time and increased my sales. It’s a win-win. My sales have increased because I use this program to keep my customers updated on information,” Cathy remarked.

Enhanced Efficiency: As the owner of a high-growth business, time is always of the essence for Cathy. Textla solved a key efficiency gap in her business. “Using Textla will save time, and this will allow you to grow your business! Set it up and forget about it, because Textla will send that message out for you,” she added.

Customer Engagement: The ease of use and responsive nature of the platform led to higher customer satisfaction and retention rates.

Cathy concluded, “Overall, Textla is excellent! The customer service is excellent, and the program itself is outstanding. I can't say enough good things about it.”

Conclusion

Cathy Ford’s strategic use of Textla at ContainerOne is a prime example of how targeted digital marketing tools can significantly enhance customer communication and drive business growth.

By effectively leveraging Textla’s features, Cathy has not only improved operational efficiencies but also ensured sustained revenue growth through enhanced customer engagement. This case study underscores the value of adaptive and strategic use of technology in modern business practices.

When our family bought an electric cargo bike earlier this year, one of my biggest fears was that this lovely and expensive new machine was going to get stolen. So I got the best lock money could buy, and I started to investigate: did I need ebike insurance?

First, I called my homeowners insurance provider to see if they would cover the bike if it were stolen. To my surprise, because it’s an electric bike, not only did my policy not cover it, they wouldn’t even add it for an additional fee or sell me a separate policy for it, the way they did for our family car.

Instead they referred me to an insurance company that specializes in bikes and ebikes. I bought a policy from them and sleep a little better for it.

I’ve heard similar stories from other ebike owners. And I’ve heard worse.

What can happen without ebike insurance

The saddest stories are the ones where someone assumed their homeowners or renters or car insurance covered their ebike, and after it was stolen or seriously damaged, it turned out it wasn’t covered.

"And then there are the stories about people whose ebikes were covered by their homeowners policy, but their premium went way up when they made a claim for a stolen ebike."

Why it’s hard to insure an ebike

When it comes to insurance, ebikes land in a gray area outside standard homeowners insurance and auto insurance. Here’s why:

  • Ebikes are new in terms of the insurance industry. Most of the several million ebikes in the U.S. were purchased in the last two years. Insurers aren’t familiar with them, and insurers don’t like to be surprised by unfamiliar products.
  • Ebikes are more expensive than regular bikes. Policies that cover bikes, like most homeowners or renters policies, might have also covered ebikes until the insurer had to pay much larger claims than they expected to replace a damaged or stolen ebike. See above about insurers and surprise. So some policy terms got changed.
  • Finally, ebikes get stolen a lot, and not only from people’s homes. They are ridden and locked up outside all over the place, which makes them more vulnerable than other valuable household items.

Steps to take to properly insure your ebike

The odds that your ebike is covered by your existing insurance is lower than you may think. Here’s what to do to find out if you need ebike insurance:

  1. Call your insurance company and find out what they cover. Things to bring up: coverage of accidental damage, theft, and travel (like what would happen if you flew somewhere with your bike and the airline did a number on it). Does the insurance company consider your ebike a “luxury item”? If you’re happy with the coverage, great! You’re good to go.
  2. Consider bike-specific coverage. If you aren’t covered, or feel like the coverage you do have isn’t enough, here are some things to think about.

Bike insurance covers all kinds of bike specific things, not just theft. Think damage to the bike from a collision, medical payments if you are injured in a collision, insurance for the bike if you are traveling with it or racing it, or a bike rental while your bike is being repaired. Some policies even cover things like accessories (like bike lights and panniers) and riding clothes.

Bike claims won’t affect your other insurance premium. Should you need to make a claim on your ebike, your home insurance premium won’t change or get canceled.
